Cinnamon Bun (Zimtknoten) - Handmade & Flexible Options

These handmade cinnamon buns are prepared in Zurich using soft yeast dough, real cinnamon filling, and Swiss butter. Known for their moist, fluffy texture and balanced flavor, they are perfect with coffee, for meetings, or as a comforting treat any time of day.

The buns are available fresh in store as well as frozen in 2-pack or 6-pack options. Frozen buns can easily be reheated at home while staying soft and aromatic. Depending on availability, they can also be purchased with pickup or delivery.

Special fillings or larger quantities available upon request – just ask!

Details

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 180-200°C and bake on the lower rack for 15 minutes. Alternatively, defrost in the microwave at 600W for 50-60 seconds.

Storage & Shelf Life

Best enjoyed fresh. Store in an airtight container and consume within 3 days.

My Process

Each bun is made from scratch using a slow fermentation process – for better flavor and a finer texture. I use high-quality Swiss butter, real cinnamon, and unrefined sugar for the filling – no shortcuts.

The Story

These buns are inspired by Nordic baking traditions, but adapted to Zurich tastes. Originally, I only baked them for friends – now they're my most requested product. Today, they're the heart of Petr's Bakery.
